Work item creation

Work items can be created in several contexts that gives the created work item a specific context.

  1. New item menu

    The new item menu is present at the right side of the title bar or the side bar.

  2. From the work item agenda, kanban, list, scheduling and table layouts

    Work items created from this context will have default field values of the current filter. Default values for the work item type will be overwritten by the current filter value.

  3. As a child linked work item

    When a work item is viewed, a child linked work item can be created from the work items tab on the menu bar.

  4. Linked to a document

    When a document is viewed, a linked work item can be created from the review tab on the menu bar.

Creating a new work item

  1. Click the New work item button
  2. Select a work item type
  3. Fill in any compulsory fields denoted by an asterix * character.
  4. Click Create to create the new work item.

If your device is offline, the work item will be synced when the app next connects to the server.

Import a work item with an existing id

Work item ids must match a prefix. Users with the Administer work item settings permission are able to specify the prefix and number of a new work item.

  1. Toggle the Auto work item number switch to the off position
  2. Select a Prefix from the list
  3. Enter the number following the prefix in Work item number

Work item and document ids must be unique within an organisation. Documents cannot have the same id as a work item and vice versa.
