Document releases

Document releases tags baselined versions of a document with a published revision. Additional files can be uploaded to a release which may include the authorised copy of the release for distribution or additional supporting materials.

Drafting a document release

  1. Click on the menu button to open the menu

  2. Ensure you have an organisation selected

  3. Click on Documents under Engineering

  4. Click on any document to view the document overview

  5. Click on the Releases tab

  6. Click on the Draft release button

  7. Give the release a name, this will be the unique tag for the release

    Different conventions can be used here such as semver or ASME Y14.35M revision letters.

  8. Optionally give the release a description, usually this would include some kind of release notes

  9. Click on the Create draft button

Publishing a document release

  1. Click on the menu button to open the menu

  2. Ensure you have an organisation selected

  3. Click on Documents under Engineering

  4. Click on any document to view the document overview

  5. Click on the Releases tab

  6. Click on any draft release

  7. Click on the Edit button

  8. Click on the Publish release button

Attaching a file to a document release

Files can be attached to either a draft or a published release.

  1. Click on the menu button to open the menu

  2. Ensure you have an organisation selected

  3. Click on Documents under Engineering

  4. Click on any document to view the document overview

  5. Click on the Releases tab

  6. Click on any draft release

  7. Click on the Attach button

  8. Select any attachment to upload

    Attachments will count towards the organisation storage quota
